SOLUTIONS · COATING QC

Coating inspection software for pipeline QC.

Veriweld brings coating QC into the same record as the weld. NACE inspectors capture surface prep, film thickness, and holiday tests in the field on the mobile app, tied to the joint, the heat, and the turnover package.

Coating QC, tied to the joint

On most projects the coating record is its own island: a separate inspector, a separate binder, reconciled to the weld log only if someone has time. Veriweld captures coating QC against the same joint as the weld and its NDT, on the same project record, so the protection on a weld is never more than a click from the weld itself.

Capture what the NACE inspector measures

  • Surface prep to the standard used (SP-1 through SP-11), with anchor-profile readings.
  • Film thickness, wet- and dry-film readings per coat, captured at the joint.
  • Multi-coat systems, product, single- vs two-part, batch numbers, mix and cure data.
  • Adhesion and holiday tests with results, locations, and photo evidence.
  • Coating-system library for supplier traceability across the project.

Holiday testing and repair tracking

A holiday isn’t found, fixed, and forgotten. It’s tracked. Veriweld records each defect’s location and severity and follows it through repair to clearance, so the coating disposition of every joint is visible rather than living in an inspector’s memory.

In the turnover package

Because coating lives in the same project record as the welds it protects, it’s already in the turnover package. The 49 CFR Part 192 export pulls coating records in alongside the weld log, NDT, and MTR provenance (signed PDFs preserved) with no separate coating binder to assemble at closeout.

Frequently asked questions

What is coating inspection software?

Coating inspection software records the coating QC on a pipeline project (surface prep, film thickness, holiday testing, and the coating systems applied) and ties it to the joints it protects. On Veriweld it lives in the same record as the weld and NDT, not a separate binder.

Does it support NACE inspection workflows?

Yes. NACE coating inspectors capture daily logs, surface-prep standards, multi-coat batch numbers, and wet- and dry-film thickness readings, with a coating-system reference library for supplier traceability. The coating inspector seat is the same single subscription as the welding inspector, with no per-discipline upcharge.

Can it capture DFT and holiday test readings in the field?

Yes, on the native mobile app, offline-first. Inspectors record wet/dry film thickness, holiday-test results, and defect locations at the joint with photo evidence, and it syncs when the device is back on a connection.

How does coating connect to the weld and NDT record?

Coating is captured against the same joint as the weld and its NDT, on the same project record. Pull a joint and you can see the weld, its inspection, its NDT result, and its coating together, rather than reconciling three separate logs.

Are coating records included in regulatory turnover?

Yes. Coating inspection records are part of the 49 CFR Part 192 turnover package, alongside the weld log, NDT results, and MTR provenance, with signed PDFs preserved.
